CoE Coaching
Expert coaches to guide your school leadership team.
The demands of leading and building high performing schools is becoming increasingly complex. School leaders are under increasing pressure to meet higher educational standards driven by community expectations within ever challenging economic environments. We understand the challenge and the pressures school leaders and staff face on a daily basis to try and meet and exceed these ever increasing demands.
We know it is not easy. The CoE Way process and our highly experienced school and organisational coaches can assist schools to meet and exceed these challenges. We offer an independent, fresh set of eyes that may be able to see things that may not have been visible to you. Our coaches guide school leaders to understand key school performance issues and support leaders with the development and implementation of sustainable school strategies.
What will a CoE coach provide school leadership teams?
CoE coaches work with you to:
Discover your school’s challenges and issues
Diagnose the cause
Design a strategy
Help you deliver on that
This cycle of discovering, diagnosing, designing and delivering is perpetual and is at the core of all good planning and coaching.
A CoE coach brings a different perspective to your school, offering solutions, ideas and approaches from years of learned knowledge and experience.
What key benefits do CoE coaches bring to schools?
EXPERTISE IN GROWING SCHOOLS & ORGANISATIONS
A fresh perspective can be the golden ticket to help you build a resilient school. Drawing from their vast knowledge and experience, a CoE coach can help you realise and design an achievable approach to reach your school’s goals and objectives.
CHALLENGING YOU TO SUCCEED
Your coach will challenge and hold you accountable to make sure you are on the right track and sticking to your commitments.
CONSISTENT SUPPORT
A CoE coach doesn’t tell you what to do, but they will guide you to bring out the best in your school.
GUIDING YOU STEP BY STEP
Your CoE coach will become your number one support during a phase of growth and discovery. They will become an integral part of your school, remaining by your side throughout the process.
What’s the difference between a mentor and a coach?
The terms ‘mentor’ and ‘coach’ are often used interchangeably, but they are entirely different. Whilst the skills required are similar, and both are used as professional development tools, the structure and the outcome are pretty different.
How do you know which one your school needs?
COACH
A Coach is introduced when a school or organisation is approaching a particular change in strategy or direction and are in need of some additional guidance.
For example, in the case of CoE, if a school decides to deploy the CoE Way, the role of the coach is to work alongside school leadership teams to provide support and guidance on all aspects of the transformation process.
MENTOR
“I’ve done it before. Let me guide you. Learn from the mistakes I have already made and the wins I’ve had.”
Experience is essential to be a mentor. A good mentor must be willing to share their wins and their stuff-ups. They generally focus on the development of their mentee and focus less on the whole organisation.
A mentor is someone you would catch up with regularly to pick their brains on particular challenges you face and have them share their similar past experiences.
